Building upon their storied history of manufacturing fine firearms for defense and competition, Springfield Armory is proud to introduce the Model 2020 Waypoint family of bolt action hunting rifles. Each rifle is built to deliver the accuracy and performance expected from a custom grade rifle with an impressive .75 MOA accuracy guarantee! Springfield worked with AG Composites to develop the rifle's premium carbon fiber stock. Each stock is hand-layed, made from 100% carbon fiber and pillar bedded for perfect marriage to the action and features a 3 axis adjustable cheek comb. When weight matters, carbon fiber strikes the perfect balance between rock solid strength and mobility. The Waypoint’s trigger from TriggerTech features a low-profile, non-snag safety and employs the company’s Frictionless Release Technology for a crisp, clean and repeatable pull. The rifle features a BSF barrel jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve and loaded under tension. This means 95 percent of the carbon fiber sleeve doesn’t contact the barrel, providing cooling air gaps and promoting cold bore to warm bore repeatability. In addition, fluting under the sleeve reduces weight and increases surface cooling area.
