HEVI-XII is the Original Hevi-Shot, now offered in a box of 25 rounds. These shells utilize tungsten pellets which offer a number of advantages when compared to steel shot. First off, tungsten is an extremely dense metal. In fact, it is about 54% more dense than steel. This allows you to shoot three shot sizes smaller than steel for the same lethality with 28% more tungsten pellets on target. In other words, HEVI-XII #4 shot hits with the same power as #1 steel shot. Next, because of tungsten's density, the pellets hit much harder and are able to penetrate deeper, which equates to less wounding and more birds in the bag. Take HEVI-XII shells with you on your next waterfowl hunt and it won't take long to see why Hevi-Shot is the ammunition of choice for some of the world's best bird hunters.
