Green Top Firearm Transfer Policy

Green Top will gladly process your firearm transfer (firearm purchased from another licensee). Green Top does not offer services for private-party transfers. A list of dealers participating in private-party transfers can be found on the Virginia State Police website (https://vsp.virginia.gov/services/firearms/). After reviewing this information, should you have any questions or concerns regarding firearm transfers, please reach out for clarification.
Fees
Standard transfer fees are $50 for firearms and $75 for NFA items plus any background check fee ($2 for Virginia residents). Shipments containing multiple firearms will be charged $50 for the first firearm and $25 for each additional firearm (must be part of the same shipment). SilencerShop orders are not subject to a transfer fee.
Pick-up:
WE WILL CONTACT YOU WHEN YOUR FIREARM IS READY FOR PICK-UP. Please do not use package tracking information as an indication that your firearm is ready for pick-up. We strive to process transferred firearms as quickly as possible. However, timeframes for pick-up are dependent on a number of factors and as such can sometimes take several business days to process.
Transfer Information:
Should you wish to have a firearm transferred to Green Top, please email [email protected] the following information:
- Your name
- Best method of contact
- What make/model of firearm you have ordered
- Where it was ordered from
- Any other relevant information relating to the transaction
Inspection:
We strongly encourage all customers to inspect the firearm prior to completing any necessary background check. Should there be any issue with the firearm, you will be responsible for contacting the seller to resolve the situation. Any warranties are solely those offered by the seller or manufacturer.
NFA Items:
All NFA paperwork (electronic or paper filing) must be completed and submitted to NFA Division within one month of receiving the item unless specifically and expressly agreed to by Green Top in writing noting otherwise. Any NFA item that is not properly submitted to NFA Division for transfer within this timeframe will be considered unclaimed. Any NFA approved transfers (tax stamp issued) not picked-up within three months will be considered unclaimed, unless specifically and expressly agreed to by Green Top in writing noting otherwise.
Unclaimed Firearms:
Green Top reserves the right to take any appropriate action to dispose of unclaimed firearms (both GCA and NFA) left for more than one year including, but not limited to, recouping expenses associated with any services, transferring the firearm to another federal firearms licensee or law enforcement agency, destruction, or other method deemed necessary. Firearms left unclaimed for more than 180 days will incur a storage fee of $5 per day beginning on the 181st day.
Terms and pricing subject to change without notice.
