Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Salesperson is to generate sales by creating for the customer a positive shopping experience through extension of a warm greeting, sharing of relevant knowledge and experience, and effective presentation of merchandise.
Essential Duties
- Ensures that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment which includes quickly acknowledging every customer in a positive, personable manner
- Answers customers’ questions
- Guides customers to desired merchandise or connects them with more knowledgeable co-workers

Range Safety Officer
Reports To: Chief Range Safety Officer
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Range Safety Officer (RSO) is to supervise shooters to ensure range rules are followed and a safe environment is being maintained at all times.
Essential Duties
- Ensures GTSR Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times
- Models safe handling of firearms at all times
- Assigns shooters to shooting lanes
- Inspects shooters’ firearms and ammunition
- Monitors all activity on the shooting lanes
- Assists customers as needed to insure proper lane and firearm use
- Addresses unsafe behavior on range promptly and respectfully
- Maintains assigned bay in safe and clean condition
- Advises Manager of Range Operations of any required maintenance issues
- Implements emergency response plans when required
- Promotes range memberships and retail sales
- Assists with range’s opening and closing tasks
- Maintains positive, respectful relationships with all customers
- Maintains productive working relationship with other range employees
- Projects professional image through dress and demeanor

Membership and Education Services Coordinator
Reports To: Assistant General Manager, Range
Job Summary
The Member and Education Services Coordinator will assist with coordinating the education services which include, but are not limited to, classroom classes, range classes, seminars and forums. This person will also assist with the growth of memberships by increasing the number of new members, increasing retention and building a strong prospect database.

Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Web Customer Service Specialist are to (1) work with customers to answer questions and resolve issues and (2) assist with in-store pickup process.

- Prints new online orders, sorts them for picking and distributes them to departments
- Assists with pulling online firearm orders

Range Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Range Operations Manager is responsible for the overall safety and operation of the shooting range. This person also supervises the Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO) and the Range Safety Officers (RSO) in the CRSO’s absence.
Essential Duties
General
- Ensures all safety and policy rules are adhered to by staff
- Edits/updates SOP as necessary
- Responds to immediate threats, injuries and/or incidents that occur on the range
- Manages OSHA requirements for lead, hearing and respiratory masks
- Responsible for maintenance of equipment, including ventilation system, target carriers and ballistic walls
- Supervises and inspects range cleaning
- Coordinates filter changes and required maintenance
- Coordinates with Educational Services Manager to provide feedback regarding all courses of fire.
- Generates reports when requested
Staff Management
- Works with General Manager to determine current and upcoming staffing needs
- Works with General Manager and HR Manager to recruit, interview, select and orient qualified job applicants
- Oversees initial training of new employees to ensure they have a strong foundation for success
- Works with General Manager to ensure staff schedule adequately reflects anticipated customer traffic and sales, and any other activity that requires employee involvement
- Monitors CRSO’s and RSOs’ daily work to ensure they receive meal breaks as appropriate
Training & Development
- Updates CRSO and RSOs on policies and procedures as needed to ensure full compliance
- Works with CRSO and RSOs to clarify their goals, identify needed skills/experience/information, and otherwise support their development efforts
- Monitors training to ensure each person is taking advantage of all training opportunities relevant to his or her responsibilities and that all relevant credentials are current
- Works with General Manager to evaluate employees’ performance informally on continuing basis, and formally at 30-day and annual intervals
- Coaches, counsels and (if necessary) recommends disciplinary action to General Manager to ensure employees perform responsibilities in acceptable manner

- Works with employees to solve interpersonal issues within the team in fair and unbiased manner

Asset Protection Specialist
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Asset Protection Specialist are to reduce profitability losses due to shoplifting, theft and vandalism, and contribute to a safe environment for employees and customers. All actions taken in executing these responsibilities are to be in compliance with the store’s Standard Operating Procedures, particularly those related to shoplifting and robbery.
Essential Duties
- Ensures that each Green Top customer is warmly greeted and respectfully treated both on arrival at the store and when departing
- Ensures customers locate desired merchandise by providing instructions or connecting them with knowledgeable co-workers
- Verifies firearms that are brought into store by customers are not loaded (see Firearm Clearing Protocol)
- Attaches daily tag to incoming firearms, bows, rods, reels and other customer property
- Checks outgoing firearms to verify they are customer property and, if just purchased, their serial numbers match the sales receipt or repair ticket
- Conducts walk-throughs on regular basis to monitor shoppers’ activity and identify any safety issues
- Confronts persons attempting to exit store with merchandise they have not purchased
- Assists Managers is detaining persons apprehended for shoplifting
- Cooperates with law enforcement personnel working the front door and/or responding to “9-1-1” calls from the store
- Files police reports and testifies in court in all cases brought to trial
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of store layout and merchandise locations
- Maintains thorough knowledge of store’s Emergency Response Plan
