Shipping and Handling

Our shipping policies appear below.  Orders also are governed by our Terms of Use, which you should review.

Continental United States Orders:

  • Most internet orders placed before 12pm Eastern Time Monday thru Friday will be processed and confirmed the same day. 
  • Please note, orders placed after 12pm Eastern Standard Time Monday thru Friday, may not be processed and confirmed until the following business day.  Orders placed after 12pm Friday generally will be processed and confirmed on the following Monday.  Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays are not business days.  We observe all federal holidays, as well as [insert].
  • Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be processed and confirmed on Monday (most orders will also ship Monday). 
  • Order acknowledgment, confirmation of product availability, and shipping tracking information will be provided to you via email after your order is processed.
  • Order acceptance occurs only when your order has been shipped.  We will notify you by email when that has occurred.
  • Large, Oversized, Multi-boxed items may incur additional shipping charges.  You will be notified of additional shipping charges prior to final processing and shipping and have an opportunity to cancel or change your order if you are not satisfied with any additional charges.
  • Orders are shipped via UPS or USPS.  A physical address is required for shipment.  We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.
  • We verify all credit cards before shipping.  In some cases, this may delay stated delivery dates.

Expected Delivery Dates:

  • All dates are estimates and may vary.  Please see notes below.
  • Standard Ground: 3-7 business days after order processing
  • 2-3 Day Express: 2-3 Business days after order processing
  • 2-3 Day Express delivery dates do not have guaranteed delivery times.  Signatures may be required upon delivery.  Drivers will not leave packages without signatures, so you must arrange for someone to receive the package and sign for it.  You may want to use a business shipping address to ensure that someone will be available to sign for the package.
  • Transit days for ground shipments and 2-3-Day Express are business days and do not include weekends or holidays.

  • Actual rates at time of purchase may vary and will be displayed in your Shopping Cart during the order process.  See "Additional Shipping Charges."

Additional Shipping and Handling Charges and Insurance:

  • If we determine that your order will require any shipping and handling charges in addition to those displayed during the order process, we will notify you by email and ask you to approve the additional charges.  We will not ship your order until you have approved the additional charges, which may delay shipping.  If you are not satisfied with any additional charges, we will offer you the opportunity to change or cancel your order.
  • All rods over 6’ will incur an additional $6 shipping and handling charge.
  • Oversized or bulky items, including bulk lead and mojos, may incur additional shipping and handling charges.
  • Orders that need to be shipped in separate boxes will incur an additional shipping and handling charge.  We will notify you by email if your order ships in multiple boxes.
  • High value items (exceeding $200) will require additional shipping, handling and insurance charges.  This charge will not show up on your order but will be added during processing.  You will be notified by email if the charge exceeds $6.00.  This may delay shipment of your order.
  • All Phone Orders will incur actual shipping and handling charges per order.

Please Note The Following:

  • We do not ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Please see the next section for international orders.
  • We do not ship to APO/FPO addresses.
  • Virginia Residents will be charged applicable sales tax on their orders.  Residents of other jurisdictions may be charged sales tax as required by applicable law.
  • All prices are quoted and all payments must be made in US$.
  • Green Top only allows one re-ship per order.  This means that we will re-ship an approved return once without additional shipping and handling charges.
  • All Rods are shipped Standard Ground.  Please call if you have a special shipping request.
  • Your order will leave our store in good condition and risk of loss passes to you when we deliver your package to the shipper.  If your order is damaged in shipment, please contact the shipper immediately to make a claim.
International Shipping Now Available!

We have partnered with Bongo International Parcel and Mail Forwarding to service our international customers.

Bongo International provides it's customers with their very own US address (not a P.O. Box). Once you have a US address, you will be able to make purchases with us as well as other US based online retailers. Bongo receives your purchases and logs them into their online system where you can consolidate them with other orders.

This process saves international customers up to 82% off typical international shipping rates.

Step-By-Step Order Guide:
  • 1. Shop for your items on our website and add them to your cart.
  • 2. Setup your Bongo International account by clicking the below image.
  • 3. After signup, Bongo will provide you with your very own US address.
  • 4. Back at our site, proceed to checkout.
  • 5. Enter your new US address supplied by Bongo as both your BILLING and SHIPPING Address.
  • 6. Use the credit card that you have on file with Bongo as the payment method... No Exceptions.
  • 7. Choose your domestic shipping method, and Place Order.
  • 8. Once completed, finish your verification process with Bongo.
  • 9. Bongo will take over from here, so communicate directly with them for delivery of your order.

Internet Pricing Policy

Prices in our retail store and on our web site generally are the same.  Due to sales, clearance events, or market conditions, prices may vary.

Price Matching

                We feel our prices are very competitive with those offered by others on the internet and in "brick and mortar" retail stores.  We continue to strive to honor our commitment to sell quality products at a fair price. Due to the very nature of our business, we are unable to match other companies’ prices. We believe our retail prices are reasonable and our customer service far surpasses industry standards, which is why we have been in business since 1947.

Returns, Exchanges, and Backorders

Returns and Exchanges:

  • Most items may be returned for exchange or refund within 30 days after shipping.  Mouth calls are not returnable.
  • Items must be new, unused, and in original package.
  • Items must include original receipt, invoice or packing slip.
  • Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
  • Some items (such as electronics and DVDs) will incur a 15% restocking fee regardless of condition.
  • Please contact us at (804) 550-2188 if you have any questions about our return policies or if you are unsure whether your item is returnable or if a restocking fee will apply.
  • Defective items are subject to our inspection before a refund or exchange is approved.  Defective DVDs will be exchanged only for the same item.  Defective electronics must be sent directly to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Return Authorization

All returns require a return authorization from us.  Before you return an item to us please send us an email stating your reason for a return.  We will email you a return shipping label for you to affix to the original box that your order came in.  You will then take the box to your nearest UPS Store and they will send it to us.  If you do not live near a UPS Store, then please call UPS and request a pick-up and they will send it to us.  All unauthorized returns will not be accepted.

Back Orders

  • At this time we do not back order any items for any reason.
